BAGHDAD, Feb. 19, 2008 - Multinational Division Center forces in Iraq began pursuit of remaining insurgent elements near Salman Pak with the Feb. 15 kickoff of Operation Marne Grand Slam.
The operation is designed to terminally disable the dwindling number of al Qaeda in Iraq operatives remaining in the region southeast of Baghdad, officials said.
