Operations Net Two Suspects in Afghanistan

WASHINGTON, April 23, 2008 - Separate operations in Afghanistan resulted in the detention of two suspects.

A suspected Taliban militant was detained April 22 during an Afghan and coalition forces joint operation to disrupt militant roadside-bomb activities in the Jaberi district of Khowst province.

The combined forces searched several compounds in the district, targeting a Taliban militant known to have facilitated bomb attacks against Afghan government and coalition forces.
